Retired engineer, now learning to manage a farm. Skills in my past prof. life: BS-CS, Associates EET, and a lot of self-taught. Former research assistant, SW/HW engineer at Intel (chip validation & debug at the ASM level, new-feature system validation, and SW Security labs group), also tech writing (Sequent Computer).
I still have my old copy of Don Lancaster's "TTL COokbook, and my TI 7400-family TTL logic data books. What I'd like to do next: learn embedded-processor postage-stamp controllers; passive solar greenhouse; invent micro-climate monitoring devices for vineyard & farm. Learn to weld stuff. Have some tools, workshop access would be cool.
I'm a tinker-er, of a generation that used to read Radio Electronics magazine, and Byte, made wire-wrap TTL cicuitry at home for fun. Retired from Portland Oregon tech career, relocating to farm near Topeka KS, like doing stuff in KC.
