Make:SF at Tech Liminal Jan 7th - Night Joule Thief

Hello Makers,

We are back to electronics this month with the Night Joule Thief

This kit allows you to use a "dead" battery that you would normally have to throw away to light LEDs. As you would expect by the name it uses Joule Thief circuit to extract the energy that you are not able to use in standard electronics. It uses some very interesting tricks to accomplish this. This kit also includes a light sensor so it automatically turns off during the day and lasts even longer. We will go through the basics of how the circuit works and then solder it together. Bring some old batteries if you have them. The cost of the workshop will be $20.

And, we want to see the cool stuff you all are doing! So email us if you have something you want to show off and we will arrange a demo.

See you there!
A fun-for-all-ages event. Children under 14 need to be accompanied by an adult.

See you soon!
