Make:SF Dec 13th @ The Tech Shop SF

Hello Makers

As usual we begin with project demos. So come and show off your projects! We want to see the cool stuff you're making. If you want to do a demo, email us and we will arrange for it.

This month we are taking on another food related project. Extractions! It turns out that creating your own extract for flavorings is easier than you might think. It requires some patience, but you have a lot more control over the selection and quality of ingredients. The workshop will cost $15 and you will get two amber bottles and have a choice of Mexican, Bourbon, Tonga, Madagascar, Uganda, Indonesian, Papua New Guinea, Tahitian, and Indian vanilla beans. But wait there is more! While they last we will also have candy cap mushrooms and coconuts for you to use. Plus! If you want to bring your own ingredients go right ahead.

This fun-for-all-ages event starts at 6:30pm. Children under 14 need to be accompanied by an adult.

This was my first time at one of these so I had no idea what to expect. I came to show off my Bike Seat project (details at www.thebikeseat.com) but had a very good time learning how to make vanilla and coconut extracts. This knowledge will probably come in handy for my mead making project.
