Make:SF @ TechShop SF July 10th

Hello Makers,

This month we have Printrbots and Liquid Nitrogen Ice Cream!

Our guest speaker Mr. Brook Drumm a KickStarter entrepreneur, will be coming down from Lincoln, CA to speak with us about his successful launch of Printrbot which was 3,323% funded! Not a bad way to start a business. Learn more about the amazing affordable Printrbot 3D printer here:

After the presentation we'll be making small batches of custom DIY ice cream! Now is your chance to try out your home made Vanilla (Have you been shaking your extract bottle every month? It should be ready by now.) Or find a recipe at AllRecipes, Instructables, or just
improvise. Bring a large metal bowl and a long handled wooden spoon.
Thanks to our member ship dues collection the cost for this mini-project will be just $5. (Join now and your membership will be good through Dec 2012.)

Here's an instructable as an example:

A fun-for-all-ages event, Children under 14 need to be accompanied by an adult.

Great meet up! Brook Drum was awesome, loved hearing about his experience developing the PrinterBot. I followed his Kickstarter campaign from the very beginning and it was great to meet him in person. It is inspiring to see the passion he has for getting kids the tools to develop their imaginations and be able to transform them to reality. The ice cream came in a close second : ) Actually, The ice cream was fantastic but if everyone knew that the next ice cream event would be swamped. Andrew should go into the vanilla extract business! I definitely will try and make any future food tech meet ups.
I love how just a few ingredients combine to make such a incredible treat! Did any one take pics of Andrew pouring the liquid nitrogen? Great chef outfit (face-shield, heavy gloves).
