Hello Bay Makers,
There is much rejoicing! The MakerBot
parts have arrived, tidily packed up in a cardboard box. We will be assembling it in the next couple of weeks (following the detailed instructions).
What does this mean for you?
Well, if you pledged some money to help us get it, now's the time to pay up! You'll be getting an email with instructions shortly after this one.
If you want to be part of the MakerBot "Kickstarters", there is still room for 2 more people.
For everyone else, it's time to crank up those 3D modeling skills.
What do you get for contributing?
You'll get a number of printing hours equivalent to the size of your pledge (e.g. if you pledge $100, you get $100 worth of printing hours), and 25% off 3D printing for as long as we have the MakerBot. Printing hours will cost somewhere between $10 - $15, which we'll decide once we actually have the printer going.
Want to help build it?
Join us at Tech Liminal next Wednesday, Sep 22 starting at 7:00 PM for the buildout. We'll schedule additional build workshops as needed.
I'm off to open the box!
