[WHAT WE DO]
Our group, THE NEW YORK CITY MALTESE MEETUP GROUP hosts meetup events for Maltese dogs + their owners once or twice a month mainly in Manhattan. At least one of the monthly meetup events includes an indoor event at reputable dog daycare facilities in NYC. It is a great opportunity for Maltese dogs to learn how to socialize with others of the same breed and exercise. It is also a wonderful platform for their owners to exchange information and help educate one another re: breed-specific health problems and preventive care recommendations; behavioral problems and trainings; food and feeding; vet/groomer/boarding info. exchange, and more.
In addition to monthly meetup events, we host special seasonal parties (Annual Halloween Costume Contest & Holiday Secret Santa Event), theme events, birthday parties, summer outdoor events, etc.
[WHO WE ARE]
Maltese dogs and their RESPONSIVE and CARING owners are all welcome here.
At this time, we are closed to new members unless they currently own Maltese dogs. While there are venues/opportunities for varieties of breeds to mingle (dog runs, daycare centers, etc.), there are few breed-specific social opportunities. The goal of THE NEW YORK CITY MALTESE MEETUP GROUP is to make the most of the uniqueness of a breed-specific play group for our beloved dogs. Training, nutrition, temperament, hereditary diseases, behavioral patterns and problems are all different depending on breeds. We strive to keep this group fun. At the same time, it is to everyone's advantage that we keep it safe, informative, and best suited to this specific breed. Because of such practical benefits, we stand by the decision to keep this a breed-specific group. Additionally, we are not a breeder's group. If your goal is to find a group or people for breeding purposes, we are not what you are looking for.
Lastly, there is NO membership fee.
