We're back at Cornerhouse on Saturday 23rd with a choice of international films followed by a social...
No - Set in Chile, 1988. When the country's dictator General Pinochet ordered a referendum to confirm his rule, he expected an easy victory. But a young advertising executive given the job of promoting the opposition vote has other ideas and must draw on creativity, guile and courage to spark his nation's fight. Winner of the Director's Fortnight prize at the Cannes Film Festival, in Spanish with English subtitles.
Lore - Following the Second World War, a young German girl finds herself alone - her Nazi parents imprisoned and her Grandmother a hazardous cross-country journey away. Setting out on that journey with her siblings, she meets Jewish refugee Thomas and discovers a world at odds with the beliefs of her parents. Together they must learn to trust each other in order to survive. In German with English subtitles.
