Amour / Django Unchained @ Cornerhouse + Social @ Knott Bar

Come along to Cornerhouse on Saturday 19th for a choice of movies followed by a social...

Amour - Michael Haneke’s Palme d’or winner details the tender and loving relationship between two elderly musicians. Anne and Georges’ happy marriage is tested when Anne suffers a series of devastating strokes and Georges insists on caring for her at home. As the couple continue with their life, they create an increasingly private world in which their long-standing devotion to each other is unshakeable.

Django Unchained - A bounty hunter buys the freedom of a slave, Django, and trains him with the intent to make him his deputy. Instead, he is led to the site of Django's wife who is under the hands of Calvin Candie, a ruthless plantation owner. Directed by Quentin Tarantino.

Last night I talked to a few people about doing a mid-week meetup to catch up with Django - but when I checked there was already a meetup this Wednesday at the Dancehouse. So I'll maybe think of doing one on the 30th instead, depending on what the film choices look like.

Typical Tarantino. An enjoyable film although a bit gruesome at times. Chatted to lots of lovely people afterwards.

Cornerhouse is quite crowded - we're at a table near the coffee bar. See you soon.

Amour is now sold out. We might go down early to get decent seats, so if you can't find us then just head on in and we'll catch up with you after the film.

Guys, it' the first time I'll be joining you. Because I don't know any of you I'm not sure how I'll be able to identify you? Is it ok if I bring a friend?

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
