Mandarin - English Language Exchange

Ni hao! Would any native Mandarin speaker be interested in meeting once a week for language exchange? I am interested in learning Mandarin and would be happy to tutor a Chinese speaker who is interested in improving his/her English skills. This might be an ideal arrangement for a graduate student. I have a BA in German and a Master's in Urban and Regional Planning. In addition, I've also studied Spanish, French and Russian and used to tutor German and French students in English. My profession has also honed my skills as a public speaker, so I am well suited to help students with pronunciation, diction, advanced grammar and effective writing and communication. I interned in Beijing in 2005 and learned some very basic Mandarin while I was there. I also have some books and software that we could use if that would be useful. I have a flexible schedule and could meet during the day or early evening on most weekdays in San Francisco or the East Bay. Thanks! Good opportunity to practice my Mandarin. I need to listen more. My comprehension needs improvement.

Glad to see people found what they want to learn. I think native English speakers very polite. I hope you feel free stop me to correct my sentence or accent next time.

I'm interested too ... I have some study materials I can bring, if anyone is interested in that. The location and time are quite convenient for me.

All interested members are invited to attend this first meeting at Morning Due Cafe. We can discuss what each of us would like from a language exchange and hopefully make arrangements with another member who has complimentary interests. Please email me directly if you have any questions.

I will be coming from San Jose at that time and would be interested in a meetup. I will stay tuned for updates if any.

Hi, I am looking for a language partner to practice my English skills. I always found myself having lack of confidence when talking with people in English. I really want to change that by having a language partner to practice to build up my level of confidence. It's good in many way especially for jobs. I currently live in Richmond district, but found myself a frequent visitor of the Main Library. Let me know any of you want to hook up for language exchange. my email: [masked]

I would also like to set up a weekly language exchange to improve my Mandarin. I have a few years of basic language skills but I would like to become more fluent and also be able to speak about more "political" and official Mandarin. If you are interested in meeting in San Francisco in the evening Monday - Friday or on the weekends, please contact me at [masked] Thanks!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
