Hello Milly and Chinese Mandarin students and hopefuls, I have been a student of Mandarin for over 40 years and have attained the level of babbler. Can read some, but cannot write in Chinese.
I am not any type of performer, but am Founder and Chair of the educational non-profit known as Chinese American Heroes. Would like to share my experiences and knowledge of Chinese American history and our many heroes. Also lecture on modern China.
I document the contributions of Chinese Americans. Of course I enjoy movies, and food, and songs too, but only indulge in eating Chinese food daily.
I can provide space for meetings at 401 Van Ness Avenue next to the Opera House and across the street from Mayor Ed Lee's garage and office. Need at least a week's notice in advance to book a small room or one that can seat up to 100 people. Convenient location for anyone using public transportation or close to BART.
I am reasonably responsible and reliable. I manage several non-profits as a volunteer seven days a week from morning to midnight. But try to have some fun sometimes, but not easy.
I have taught basic Chinese Mandarin for people needing to learn guerilla Chinese (Mandarin). Have taught many, many people basic survival Mandarin.
