7191 Granville Avenue Richmond, BC, V6Y 1N9, Richmond, BC
Following the success of our previous outdoor event, the organizing team is hosting another Outdoor Casual Mandarin Conversation event, this time at the Richmond Minoru Park on Saturday afternoon. Why stay indoors when we can go outside for some fresh air?
This meetup will be similar to the Wednesday night Vancouver/Richmond mall meetup or the Sunday afternoon Metrotown cafe meetup, in the style of a language exchange get-together for Chinese speakers of all levels. Since this will be outdoors, you're welcome to bring friends, family members, or pets along. We'll be in the picnic area tables under some tree shade. Feel free to bring games to play on the open grass field (frisbee, badminton, soccer ball) or table/board games (cards, chess) and tell us in the comment section below.
You are encouraged to bring snacks/drinks to share (leave a comment below). John will bring some disposable cups/plates/utensils, but to be environmentally friendly it is welcomed that you bring your own bottles/containers/utensils. Seating is limited, so bring extra lawn chairs, large mats/towels. We are beside a BIG grass field!
Location & How to find us:
High quality detailed map:
If you are coming by Skytrain or bus, get off at the Richmond Centre station on No.3 Road. Walk straight west through Richmond Centre. Exit the mall and walk southwest, across the street (Minoru Blvd) until you see the parking lot for the Richmond Public Library. Then keep walking west past the Library until you see a big oval running track and an open grass field to the north. We will be at the picnic tables on the north side of the large grass field.
If you are driving, enter through Granville Ave and park at any of the parking lots beside the oval running track, Library, Ice Rink, or Aquatic Centre. Do not park at Gateway Theatre lot because it is not free. Find the oval running track and the large grass field to the north. We will be at the picnic tables on the north side of the large grass field.
John's recommendation for visitors/new-immigrants/tourists:
Feel free to explore the Minoru Park! There is a beautiful garden and lake nearby to the north. Or, visit the facilities in the south including the Library, Aquatic Centre, Ice Rink, Tennis Courts, and Running Track (refer to map). Take an adventure through the park in the afternoon, and then meet us up for picnic at 4:00pm.
PLEASE SHOW UP IF YOU RSVP!
