Local MapStorytelling...and other good stuff!

Join us for our first MapStoryDC MeetUp where we'll launch MapStory: Local, a new initiative for 2013 to get people mapping the evolution of the communities they call home. We'll start off with our first MapStory Local example, which depicts the growth of Ames, Iowa from its founding until now. An open mic period will follow, so bring your stories!  We'll have food, good people, and of course, free MapStory swag.

Hey, everyone! What a cool bunch of people!
I'm psyched about this event because of a project I'm working on to prevent human trafficking in the US and Southeast Asia. I have a lot to learn about all this, and am excited to meet everyone and learn about what you're working on. Looking forward to collaborating with like minded people in the future! Here's a short overview of the project I'm working - presented in illustrations for ease of explanation (it'll take just 3 mins to scroll through): http://www.slideshare.net/preventhumantrafficking/prevent-human-trafficking-report-and-respond-project

Here's our site with more info about it: https://prevent-humantrafficking.squarespace.com/mobile-app/

Christina, you should connect with @nadabakos, she focuses on those same issues and would be a good resource.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
