IMMERSE YOURSELF IN CIVIL WAR HISTORY
IN A DRAMATIC SETTING
FORT POINT, SAN FRANCISCO
Saturday, January 26
10 AM to 5 PM
Self Guided Field Trip
From its vantage point overlooking the spectacular Golden Gate, Fort Point protected San Francisco harbor from Confederate and foreign attack during and after the U.S. Civil War. Its beautifully arched casemates display the art of the master brick mason from the Civil War period.
War Reenactments are ongoing
throughout the day.
Fort Point is a great place to shoot with never ending opportunities. If you have been there before you may want to focus on a particular subject matter to practice on something new you want to try. Examples would be close-up, maybe photos with the Golden Gate Bridge, or examples of journalism. There are also great landscape scenes as you walk away from the fort.
I will set up a Photo Album, so please add a few of your photos for all to see.
There is a small bookstore located inside Fort Point. Restrooms are available outside the fort. They are located approximately 100 yards away from the fort, down the main road on the right side.
Also, a short walk down the main road is a small deli and gift shop if you deside to enjoy a bit of food while you are at the fort.
"Again this is a Self Guided Event. There will be no designate event planner (i.e. Maxine Carlson) as I am on vacation till March, but have taken sometime to let you know of exciting events you may be interested in doing."
