Welcome to Tara Firma Farms!
One Hour Tour Sat, May 26, 2012
10 am til 12:00noon
3796 I Street Exn, Petaluma, CA 94952

Tara Firma Farms is here for four reasons, to provide you with clean healthy food; to heal the land; to grow young farmers; and to have a lot of fun. We raise pastured beef, pork, chicken and eggs in a way that restores the native landscape of California and sequesters carbon from our atmosphere.

We are a family-owned farm implementing pasture-raised and organic practices to produce REAL food. We are committed to offering healthy chemical-free, all-natural produce and raising grass-fed, pasture-raised and humanely-treated pigs, cows, and chickens.

I went several years ago and it was both photo friendly and educational. Most of the tour is on fairly level ground with a few rolling hills to climb. I would rate it an "Easy Hike".

We will be taking the 10AM tour, which is free.

Please arrive by 9:45am, so we will be ready for the start of the 10:00am tour. (If you miss this tour the next tour will start at 12:00).

Please sign up ASAP as I am limiting the tour to ideally no more than 30 people. I will put you on a wait list and if there is a huge number of people on the wait list -- I will call to see if we can make special arrangements for a larger group.

You may bring tripods, etc if you like, but on the guided one hour tour it will not be possible to stop for long to set up your tripod for picture taking. I would suggest taking your camera only on the tour. After the one hour tour we will be able to roam anywhere on the farm to take our pictures.

Shop: They have a Farm Store offering Seasonal Produce, Pastured Meats and other amazing farm products! I bought my favorite (chicken liver) the last time I visited several years ago.

Directions: N on 101 - Left onto San Antonio Rd - Take 2nd left to stay on San Antonio Rd - Turn Right onto I St Exn - Destination on the Left.

Please change your RSVP to NO if your plans have changed and you will not not be attending this meetup. Thanks much. This way I will not be waiting for you at the Farm.

Anyone interested in carpooling. I live in Novato. Let me know and we can decide on pickup point. If we leave somewhere near Novato we should plan on meeting at 9:15am

For those of you who enjoy entering your photos in the Marin County Fair in July - the theme this year is AGRICULTURE and this would be a great place to find many oppertunities at this farm. You can get very close and personal with the animals, etc.
