WORLD TAI CHI DAY
April 28 (Saturday), 2012
By Shane’s Rib Shack near the Triangle Town Mall
World Tai Chi Day is an annual global event that has been occurring for over 10 years and is held in 6 continents, 70 countries, all 50 of the United States, and hundreds of cities throughout the world. World Tai Chi Day is always on the last Saturday of April beginning at 10:00 in the morning (for each city’s local time). The aim is to send positive waves of energy around the world, and to bring awareness of tai chi’s benefits to our communities. Beginning in the earth's earliest time zone, all participants share tai chi moves, as it blooms around the earth throughout the entire day, time zone by time zone.
We will meet near TRIANGLE TOWN MALL at the pond in Poyner Place, just outside of Shane’s Rib Shack.
Meet by the fountain.
This event has been cross posted on many sites, in addition to non-Meetup venues. WRAL posted a blurb about this event. You can bring a blanket and hang out in the grass if you'd simply like to watch. After the event, we can get pizza, chicken, ice cream...
This event is geared for beginners.
No experience is needed.
We will begin with breathing exercises, then you will learn the 7 treasures of tai chi, followed by some easy and flowing tai chi moves. Those who attend will see the tai chi form, two-person Push-Hands, and tai chi sword demo.
