Reptile and Amphibian Search at Benjamin Banneker Historical Park and Museum

After learning about the state-wide effort to survey reptiles and amphibians, we'll search Benjamin Banneker Historical Park to document herps. No experience necessary. Wear sturdy shoes and bring water. Children (6+) are welcome on the search (2:30 - 4 pm). Adults and herp enthusiasts will find the lecture interesting (1 - 2:30 pm).

Sue Muller, Howard County Coordinator of the Maryland Amphibian and Reptile Atlas (MARA) project, will be leading the event. MARA is a five year [masked]) joint project of the Natural History Society of Maryland and Maryland Department of Natural Resources.

MARA is an on-going project ( and we're hoping to have a big push this upcoming year to encourage more people to observe herps in Baltimore City and Baltimore County. Stay tuned for similar events in the future. I also couldn't attend today's talk but wanted to make sure it was posted on Meetup so everyone was aware of this great opportunity. If you attended, post photos and let us know what you discovered!

Agree w/ Dr. McHale, this sounds great. Sorry I can't make it. Especially interested in kid-friendly events.
