Exploring Bees in Lutherville - (new location)

  • October 6, 2013 · 12:00 PM
  • The Gray Bungalow

Naturalist Gene Scarpulla will lead us as we search for bees in the patches of Goldenrods and Asters at Oregon Ridge Park. We'll be catching, observing, and releasing the bees. Gene will discuss how he surveyed the native bees on Hart-Miller Island, and he'll offer an overview of how to look at bees in the field.

Bring an insect net, a hand lens, and a see-through jar with a lid if you have them.

If you don't have them, come anyway. We will have extra lenses and nets for you to borrow.

Fee:  Members $5. Non-Members $10.  Become a member at: www.marylandnature.org

NOTE: THIS IS A CHANGE OF LOCATION.

The raindate will be the following Sunday 10/13/13, noon - 1:30 pm.  We'll notify you if we're rained out.

Great! Thank you. Now I know how much I don't know about Bees, Wasps, Flies and Imposters.

It's Honey Harvest Festival at Oregon Ridge this weekend (11 to 4 both days). Parking lot may be more crowded than usual.

We have insect nets for participants to use. This will be a fun outing. Bring a friend, a neighbor, and/or a child you know.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
