Please make sure that you have waders (rubber soled only),  rubber boots, or sneakers that you don't mind getting wet (the water will be cold!).  We will be visiting up to 3 different aquatic habitats within the park, so be prepared to take a very short hike or two!  I will have white pans and some aquatic nets for sorting through our findings.  See ya at the park!!!

I've updated this meetup - we won't go out Saturday, but instead Sunday.... weather looks much more pleasant.

It is supposed to rain with a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon tomorrow.... Sunday is supposed to be windy but sunny (high 50's to mid 60's). Do we want to reschedule?

Felt soled waders have been banned in the state of MD. http://baltimore.cbslocal.com/2011/03/22/md-ban-on-felt-soled-waders-begins/

The stream in front of Oregon Ridge Nature Center has a good variety of macroinvertebrates. And, the Issac Walton league publishes a nice laminated field guide to the major groupings.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
