  • Aug 22, 2014 · 8:00 PM
  • Maryland Naturalist Center

Join us for an evening of music--insect music--as we walk through the Overlea neighborhood and listen for eight different night-singing crickets and katydids. Come be part of the Cricket Crawl, a regional Citizen Science effort.

Cost: FREE

RAINDATE: August 23 - Check this website if it's rainy.

Cricket Crawl is an evening sound census of the late summer crickets and katydids, which will help scientists to document these often overlooked insects’ distribution.  It is a collaborative partnership of the Natural History Society of Maryland, the Audubon Naturalist Society, DiscoverLife.org, and the U.S. Geological Survey. You can preview and the songs of the eight target species at:https://soundcloud.com/cricketcrawl2013.
