Talbot County Herp Hike

Come join us for a morning hike at the former Jean Ellen Dupont Shehan Audubon Sanctuary (now called Mt. Pleasant Farm) to look for spotted turtles, mud turtles, wood frogs, spotted salamanders, and other vernal pool/wetland dwellers. Please make sure you wear boots for wading, or shoes that you don't mind getting wet. Bring your dipnets, field guides and rain gear, if you feel so inclined. DIRECTIONS: From Rt. 50 • Turn onto MD-322/Easton Bypass • Turn onto St. Michaels Rd/ MD-33 towards St. Michaels (on for approx 12 miles passing through St. Michaels) • Turn LEFT onto Bozman Neavitt Rd/ MD-579 (stay on for approx 6 miles) • Turn LEFT onto Wells Point Rd (portions unpaved) – Talbot Co. ADC Map 11, 12A. Note: ~30 minutes (18 miles) from MD-322/MD-33 intersection We will meet at the gate. Please be at the gate no later than 9 AM.
