Project WILD

Project WILD is an interdisciplinary conservation and environmental education program emphasizing awareness, appreciation, and understanding of wildlife and natural resources. The program is designed for educators of all types who work with children from kindergarten through 12th grade.

Project WILD activities can be used to teach basic skills in science, social studies, language arts, math, art, music, and physical education. The activities are designed to be hands-on and are focused on teaching students how to think and not what to think.  Project WILD is aligned with the new Environmental Literacy Standards for Maryland as well as National and StateScience Standards.

When: Sat July 21st ; 9:00-3:30pm

Where: Cylburn Arboretum

Who: Educators of all kinds (teachers, naturalists, scout leaders, etc)Cost: Free! Bring a bagged lunch

The workshop is free to participants and will cover various Project WILD activities as well as an assortment of teaching resources.  Registration is required- please contact Kerry Wixted to register. The workshop is limited to 30 registrants on a first come-first serve basis. Registration deadline is July 18th 2012.
