You Are Not Alone!

As part of this fall's campaign to bring the atheist and humanist community together, HAAM presents an evening of getting to know your fellow atheist/humanists.

Instead of bringing in an outside speaker, this time we'll be hearing stories from our own members: what religious or non-religious upbringing did they have, and what brought them to atheism or humanism, and finally to us. We'll be hearing from several members from diverse backgrounds who have been invited to tell us their stories. (Speakers were invited ahead of time to prepare their stories; audience members will not be asked to speak.)

Our members come from every imaginable background, from fundamentalist religion to no religion at all. We'll be hearing some very personal stories at this meeting, so please keep what you hear confidential out of respect for the speakers and their families.

As always, the meeting is free to attend but you can choose to purchase dinner and/or drinks from Aalto's (most of us do). Members can also borrow a book from our extensive atheist/humanist library, and are eligible to attend our Round Table discussions and Book Club meetings. We hope you'll join us! Membership is affordable and goes toward our outreach activities in the community.

Charity of the Month for November: Agape Table

We will be accepting cash or cheque donations, and/or clothing. If you'd like Agape Table to send you a receipt for your charitable donation we'll have envelopes available at the meeting; put your donation inside the envelope and write your return address on the outside. If you don't mind donating and not getting a receipt we'll make the donation for you.

Most interesting to see how different peoples' beliefs have evolved.

Aw, I'm sorry to hear that. Hope to see you at the Round Table or Book Club instead.
