Birch Mountain Rd. Lookout Mountain Loop (Hike Level- Moderate)

Hike Level:  Moderate, Single Track, Some Hills

Hike Start LocationCase Pond Lot, on Birch Mountain Rd. Manchester

Hike Start Time:   6:30 PM Sharp- Please try to arrive early so we can start on time!

Hike Distance:   2.5 Miles

Hike Duration:  About 1 1/2 hours

Water on Trail For Dogs: Maybe- Bring water for your dog to be safe

 

The Hike: We will be hiking the Carriage path to the White trail then on to the Blue trail and follow it to the summit of Lookout Mountain and enjoy the view of Hartford and surrounding towns. Then we will make our way back down the Carriage path and back to the parking lot and end of hike.

Direction to Case Pond Lot Manchester, CT


From the south take 91N to 84E to 384E

From the north take either 91S to 84E to 384E or take 291S to 84W/384E

From the west take 84E to 384E

From the east take 84W to 384E

Take Exit 4, "Highland Street"
Stop sign at end of ramp. Take left and then a right at traffic light on to highland street.. Highland park market will be across the street.

Follow highland street and take first right after you go under the bridge on to Birch Mountain Road. The Case Pond Lot is on your right just after you turn on to Birch Mountain Road.

    Still having it. If we get rain it should just pass by and be over before our hike. I hope!

    Actually we just has a very heavy rain storm it's passing now but we will watch the Weather as the bike gets closer. We should be ok by hike time!
