Most places claim free-range or free-roaming which doesn't mean the
feed isn't supplimented, especially in winter. There is a brand that
my grocery occasionally carries called Natures Yolk Pastured eggs,
which to my knowledge is from unsupplemented hens.. I've been meaning
to speak to the manager there requesting more regular stock of this.
Buy Natures Yolk also carries "free range" and "organic" and I'm not
sure that the grocer or consumer understands the difference.
There's also uddermilk.com which during the summer carries pastured
eggs, but they supplement in the winter. They deliver to brooklyn and
manhattan. Hope this helps.
