I have 2 new ways to get more involved in meatsharing:
1. B&Y Farms will be returning to the Stuy Town market this summer as well as opening up a new market at Tompkins Square. They are looking for someone to help out with the markets. If you are interested or would like more information, please email Judy at [address removed]. Plus, you can always contact me with your questions. I've worked extensively with B&Y Farms and they are excellent farmers.
"We're paying $10/hr (sometimes we can throw in end of day meat), need someone who can think quick with math, especially under pressure, and is into promoting our farm, farming practices and can speak intelligently about B & Y Farms. If they can lift heavy coolers, keep things nicely iced, help with breakdown/set up and commit to every Sunday, rain or shine from 8-4:30 at Stuy Town, and if need be, walk or bike over to Tompkins if help is needed there."
2. Spring Lake Farms will be doing another delivery on May 12th. I will be out of town and will not be able to host. Is anyone interested in hosting? If you do, a portion of your meat will be free.
Responsibilities include: being at your drop off spot early, greeting farmers and meat sharers, ensuring everyone gets their proper box (will be pre-packaged & labeled). I will set up the meet-up and handle collecting money & paying farmers. You will be a co-organizer and host.
