It's been a while since we used our London Meetup group, so we dusted off the cobwebs and have kicked off a new series of events for London starting this September.

We are really excited to announce a new partnership in London with the team at mashup* – a community of digital executives, entrepreneurs and investors and we've created a new brand for digital events in London called NOW* event.

Our first event is focused on CROWDFUNDING.

Venture Capital, as an industry, suddenly finds itself at a critical monument in its life as finally credible alternatives have arrived. They are under the same disruptive pressure which they have backed companies to do for the last 20 years. Their traditional mantra, change the economics and attack the old slow moving existing players is coming back to bite them. Two critical changes are forcing change; the first is that the amount of investment needed to start and grow a business is small and falling and second, the old VC structure is too higher cost in real and commercial terms. This event will explore on what we have learned so far from crowd funding, micro-loans and micro-funding and where we believe the future of funding is heading. If your thinking of new money in the next two years, you should be at this event.
