Meditation Meetup - Georgetown - May 21, 7:00PM

Our group works to cultivate spiritual friendships by practicing various meditations, sharing ideas, and building community. We meet every other Thursday. Our next Meditation Meetup together is now scheduled for Thursday, May 21, 2009, starting at 7PM, at the Church of Two Worlds, Washington DC 3038 Q STREET, NW WASHINGTON DC (GEORGETOWN, between 30th and 31st streets) We’ll spend the first 30 minutes gathering and greeting each other, and will start our meditation at 7:30pm. Please bring to the table any spiritual gifts you might want to share. We are an open group that welcomes and practices all forms of meditation. On May 7, Carrie & Miguel shared with us an amazing guided meditation (Chakra Dhyana). On May 21, Kyle, a new but very experienced member of our group, will speak about and lead a meditation sitting of the traditional Japanese Soto Zen and its integration with other forms such as Tibetan Tantric and Theravada Vipassana. -We will begin with a semi-traditional Japanese tea ceremony, with discussion about Zen. -A traditional ZaZen sitting for a few minutes. -A more contemporary Zen meditation, each person seated in front of another mediator. -A contemporary Tibetan Circle Mandala Meditation. I love my meditation meet-up family. Tonight's zen meditation was outstanding and we expressed ourselves through drawing and painting. It was inspiring to hear what everyone experienced and the story behind their work.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
