This workshop includes an unusual and powerful meditation experience - I thought it might interest you.
Overtone singing is an ancient spiritual practice used in many different countries such as Siberia, Tibet and Mong?lia. Through this technique we can attune our ears so that we hear the pure tones that make up different notes. We hear them as pure flute-like notes sounds from within the sound. This process is similar to white light passing through a crystal and being refracted into the separate colors of the rainbow. With practice you can learn to hear and enhance the production of these beautiful flute like sounds yourself.
The focus of this workshop is mainly on the awareness of listening and the enhanced level of perception that we can gain when expressing these pure sounds. When practiced in a group, overtone singing creates an amazing sensation, as though the sound coming from you is coming from another realm. This creates a special atmosphere for meditation.
Pradiip is a graduated musician from UNICAMP (State University of Campinas in S?o Paulo) and studied different modalities of sound healing with different teachers in Brasil, Argentina and USA, and is visiting the Bay Area for a few weeks, studying and teaching.
