Yoga for Stress/Anxiety Relief- we will spend half the class going through relaxing asana and half the class into guided meditations to release stress in the body and anxiety in the mind. Perfect for anyone who needs that relief from these disorders. This class can also work for depression as we let go of the things that hold us back from happiness.
Are you interested in meditation? Want to meet others with similar interests and values? Well, you might enjoy visiting with our group sometime. We meet to discuss the various techniques, philosophies and schools of thought related to meditation. Even better, we meditate together. And there's always some time to socialize at the end of the meeting if you want. If you have never meditated before then this is a great way to get a clear picture of what it is all about. And if you are a regular meditator, the group energy can really help enhance your practice. There are 4 main forms of meditation: mindfulness (as in the Buddhist Vipassana and Zen traditions), concentration (as in raja yoga and in modern high-tech approaches that use light and sound entrainment), visualization (as in the Hindu culture such as pranayama, and kriya yoga. We are open-minded and explore all these approaches. This group also covers topics such as how meditation is used in Metaphysics such as Wicca, Reiki, etc.. I'd like to explore meditation in different areas around the world. Anyone can benefit from meditation whether it be a simple sit down or some Yogaerobics ending with meditation. :)
