"Building Mindful Community" Pot Luck

Please join us as we share food, meditation and ideas in Kerry's "new" home on Devon Street in Portland. We'll start with a hearty pot luck supper, have time for a group meditation, and then open the floor to a discussion about co-creating a mindful community.

Our intention is to create a space where we can share ideas about how to help cultivate individual and collective awareness and acceptance using online discussion forums and meetup events. Some questions we would like you to consider:

• What would a mindul community look like? 

• How can we best structure meetups, discussions, and communication to create a forum for individual and collective mindfulness development?

• How can we best engage and promote to find appropriate members to be a part of this community?

• What kinds of meetup events are people interested in, and how do we capture resources already in the community to support our efforts?

We hope you can join us for this community building event. Please bring a healthy potluck dish to share and, if you can, your own dish/bowl/utensils. If you're unsure what kind of food to bring, feel free to reach out to Kerry or me and we'd be happy to make suggestions. I'll be bringing a hearty roasted butternut and sweet potato soup.

    I've never been to one of these mindfulness meetups before, is this a good one to start with?

    Is there something I could buy at the store to bring? I don't really have time to make anything.

      You are welcome to join us and you won't be the only first timer. We'll eat some food, do a short meditation together and talk about what kinds of activities we want to have this year. I expect we'll have plenty of food so okay just to come. Or pick up a beverage. See you soon.
