Introduction to Meditation

Introduction to the mindfulness of breathing meditation. The mindfulness of breathing meditation uses the breath as the object of concentration. By focusing on the breath we can become aware of what’s going on in our minds. This brings us to the present moment helping to bring a calm, peaceful state of being and helps us to let go of restlessness and anxiety. A wonderful way to relax along with having a positive effect on one’s entire physical and mental state.

Cost: $25-$35 (sliding scale) Cash or check payable to Nagaloka.

Led by: Dharmasuri

Dharmasuri was first introduced to Buddhism in 1994. She helped found Nagaloka in 2003 and was ordained in 2006 into the Triratna Buddhist Order following a six week retreat in Dunkeld, Scotland. Dharmasuri lives and works in Portland. She is the current chairperson for Nagaloka. Dharmasuri has a strong meditation practice and the Dharma comes from her heart. Her love of the Dharma is noted in her name, Dharmasuri, which mean “heroine that embodies the path to Enlightenment.”
