Eight Step Recovery - Using Buddha's teachings to OVERCOME ADDICTION

The Buddha’s teachings to Overcome Addiction

Led by: Vimalasara

Supported by: Narottama

Suggested Cost : $45-$60 (self determining sliding scale)

It will be a day of reflection, meditations, and a short talk about recovery. There will also be some direct pointing helping people to see through the illusion of craving and ill will which can often be the cause of the addictive cycle.
Humans have an inbuilt tendency towards addiction, and the Buddhist teachings can be applied to help bring about  sobriety of mind, self compassion and abstinence. This retreat will offer some simple meditative tools, and an understanding of addiction that will hopefully help us go back out into the world better equipped to deal with the triggers that can onset a slip or a relapse. There will also be opportunity to ask questions.

Suitable for non Buddhists as well as Buddhists. For people with addictions, in recovery, or people who have grown up in addictive house holds, or have friends or relatives struggling with addictions and for professionals.

Vimalasara is a TEDx speaker and Co-author Valerie Mason-John of Eight Step Recovery
