La Donna del Lago by Gioacchino Rossini (live from the Royal Opera House )

ODEON CINEMA MONDAY 27 MAY 2013 The ultimate bel canto cast is assembled for this important yet rarely performed masterpiece. Based on Sir Walter Scott’s poem The Lady of the Lake, La Donna del Lago is the most fully Romantic of Rossini’s Italian operas. Expansive ensembles and shimmering orchestration generate an opulence seldom heard in the composer’s comic works. John Fulljames’s staging evokes the exoticized mystery of Rossini’s Romantic landscape, and provides an insight into this rich but under-explored seam of operatic gold. In the hands of three of the leading bel canto voices of our time, Juan Diego Flórez (Count Almaviva in The Royal Opera’s Il barbiere di Siviglia, Tonio in The Royal Opera’s La Fille du régiment), Joyce DiDonato (who sang the title role in Cendrillon with The Royal Opera last Season), and Colin Lee (Tonio in the 2012 revival of La Fille du régiment), La Donna del Lago promises to be a musical revelation.Runtime: 180 min The meeting up will take place during a break or after this perfomance. Very soon we will let you know about time and place details. Meanwhile we suggest to book your ticket as soon as possible to secure your participation at this page: https://www.odeon.co.... At this moment there are many available seats! Looking forward to meeting you! Angelo

    Dear Friends,
the performance running time is about 3 hours 20 minutes | Including one interval.
I wish to propose to meet up after the performance (around 10,15) at Restaurant Primo (www.primolondon.com) near the Odeon Cinema (£ 9.90 for one dish and drink). In any case, I will be at Odeon's bar during the interval to meet you. If you are interested in going to the restaurant please to let me know as soon as possible so I can book.
    Looking forward to meeting you.

I have proposed this event also because of cheap ticket fee. Opera at cinema is a good way to enjoy opera at affordable cost! Isn'it?
