Songs for a Sunday Afternoon (Melbourne Consort)

Ensemble singing as sophisticated entertainment has a long and substantial history, and what better way to while away an afternoon than to explore the subtlety and diversity of the human voice, featuring the Consort of Melbourne (external link).

This entertaining and informative concert will walk you through 600 years of music from medieval to pop, sharing historical facts, vocal tips and performance tricks.

Hear music by Thomas Tallis, Johannes Brahms, Camille Saint-Saëns, traditional spirituals, George and Ira Gershwin, The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel and Billy Joel.

I had to change my RSVP but it doesn't seem to have gone through. I have a sick child at home, unfortunately!! Hope all attending enjoy the beautiful music.

I'll keep an eye on the door. But we're still standing and waiting.

Hi everyone, I'm so sorry a very important meeting for an upcoming event that I'm organizing just came up. I can't go to this event unfortunately, but hopefully I can go to the other ones in the future. Thanks

Hi everyone. I've never been to this place so don't know how it works. Let's meet up at 2:30 outside the front of the entrance. There shouldn't be too much of a crowd assembled by 2:30, but you never know. We'll go in and get seats at about 2:40. If there's not much of a turn out (since this event doesn't seem very well promoted), I can wait outside for a bit longer for anyone to turn up.

Hi all, I am new to the group, very happy to discover this. Unfortunately, I am already committed to something else that evening, however, I will keep an eye on this group to see what I can attend with you all in the future.

Hi Anna, Any idea how long this one lasts? Thanks for putting up the Messiah! I'm just choosing two others by the MSO.

I'm guessing 1.5 to 2 hours. That's how long Melbourne Consort concerts usually run for. Hope you can make it!

Hi Anna, I'm new to the group. Are we meeting prior to the concert and then find seats together? If yes, what time should we meet? Thanks :)
