Moon Baseball

Come join us for our first baseball game on the moon.

The game will be played at Earthview Park which is just off the Saturn Expressway near the Vesuvian Way offramp. Free parking at the docking pad center.

9-innings of chasing a small sphere in weightless conditions.

Beer and soft drinks will be available along with grilled hot dogs in squeeze tubes.

Don't forget your moon cleats, helmets and space gloves!

Umpires checking a Venusian player's passport before last year's game.

I had trouble batting in 1/6g, but once I'd drunk enough moonshine, it didn't seem to matter anymore!

Close game to the end and an exciting one too! Several balls are still traveling through the lunar atmosphere and are expected to be retrieved soon so they don't dent any incoming crafts. Plans are for a football game near the Isotope Crater sometime later this year.

Wonderful chance to play some baseball. It was difficult to see the hitter beyond the horizon, but it made the jump for the ball more interesting. The home run was easier here as escape velocity was achievable at about 60miles per minute when the robot pitcher was cranked up fully. Nice that it pitched right at our swinging titanium bats. Collected a ball stuck at the L5 on the way back for a souvenir. Expecting big bucks on e-bay. Though covering the $2M ride will still be a long way off. Thanks to the
    organizers and the teams!

Also, I found out the hard way, don't EVER make rude jokes about where the umpires are from!

Umpires are from Uranus and they usually are very serious. Don't try to argue with them if there's a close play since they carry weapons (see photo). They also sometimes check interplanetary passports, so make sure yours is stamped and up to date when you step up to bat.

I've increased capacity for this event so you can now bring the entire family and part of the surrounding neighborhood along.
