This workshop series will help educate you on choosing the best web host for you. Without a host you can’t have a website. But there’s a lot you need to know before and we want to help you be sure you are selecting the right host for you.
Did you know you can host in any country in the world? Did you know your blog can be fast to any reader, no matter what country they are in?
In this workshop you will learn:

- What blog platform is right for you
- How to install your blog and hosting
- How to transfer your current wordpress.com to a self-hosted site

Note: This event has no one from hosting providers selling to you nor will it contain any sales pitches.
It is simply hosting advice from our experience.

Grill'd in Carnegie is the venue for this workshop and have kindly agreed to provide attendees a $20 Grill'd voucher that can be used on the night or later at any location.

The club's workshop is a place to share and network with other bloggers. This series is suitable for beginner bloggers, people who want to transfer from Wordpress.com to a self-hosted site and anyone who is looking to start a blog.

Workshop guests may arrive from 7pm for a 7:15pm start. We expect to conclude the workshop at around 8:30pm.
You have the option of ordering food during the event or after, or if you are good, you can use the voucher another time at any Grill'd Restaurant.
Grill’d Carnegie has ample parking around the back (near Carnegie Public Library) or in the Safeway car park. It is close to Carnegie train station as well.
Unfortunately the event has no disabled access.
There is no free wi-fi on site, so if you require internet access, please bring a wifi dongle or a phone to tether off.
