Come and join us for a Christmas Picnic Lunch in Queen Victoria Gardens with the The Newcomers Network and the Melbourne Social Club and Fun, Food and Friendship. This event has been running for seven years and is open for everyone to attend, last year we had around 70 people attend.
There will be no snow but a great place to meet others not participating in the traditional family Christmas. Come and meet some new friends from the Newcomers Network, Melbourne Social Club and Fun, Food and Friendship and enjoy a Christmas Day Picnic.
Queen Victoria Gardens is very centrally located in Melbourne and is located opposite the National Gallery of Australia and is close to Flinders Street Railway Station.
Please bring your own food/drinks, picnic blanket/rug/chair, sunscreen hat etc. and outdoor games equipment - like a football to kick, cricket bat and tennis ball etc, if you wish.
Bring food that you can have yourself or share with others.
Public transport is free on this day and uses the Sunday timetable.
Stairs that lead to the path that goes through the gardens are located opposite the Arts Centre on St Kilda Road. On the path you will see many trees in a flat grassy area and our location will be directly opposite the National Gallery of Victoria.
Look for the Fun, Food and Friendship Banner or Newcomers Network sign hanging from the tree in the gardens Meet Ian from Fun, Food and Friendship and Sue from the Newcomers Network on arrival, you can come for any part of the time between midday and 3pm and enjoy a Christmas Day picnic lunch.
