Gasparilla Pirate Fest & Parade Weekender
The Gasparilla experience is not a pirate fest in the typical meaning but a pirate theme Mardi Gras on a similar scale. With a legacy of over 100 years it is a week-long charity event drawing half a million people and a thousand boats of all sizes. The Saturday afternoon parade alone now numbers 100 floats and lasts well over two hours. And we have some of the best seats in the house. Partying will take place all over the downtown area throughout the weekend and dozens of businesses are involved. Our trip will include a Friday evening arrival at out Tampa hotel followed by the option of using the free shuttle service to go over to Ybor City, a nightlife mecca in its own right, or heading to the Channelside complex to party there. Saturday morning means heading to the downtown area to party hop, via hotel shuttle or just walking the single mile, and ending up at our VIP area to watch the parade. No need to hurry later as you can party on into the night or head back to the hotel to relax. After check-out Sunday morning and breakfast there will be time to visit local museums (additional expense) before heading home mid-afternoon.
We AAARRR going over Friday afternoon & returning Sunday afternoon in a rented 12 passenger van. $235 Per person Double Occupancy Package deal includes your ride over & back PLUS a ticket to the VIP seating by the Marina. The entire downtown area is open for our exploring Friday night through Sunday morning. We will leave the parking lot of the Murphy gas station by the Viera Wal-Mart (I-95 exit 191 west) at 6:00 pm and the Sam’s Club Cocoa west side entrance (I-95 exit 205 east) at 6:30 pm. Estimated arrival time at the Tampa hotel approximately 9:00 pm. We will leave Tampa heading for home at 3:00 pm Sunday.
