Hello, everyone! This group is for Melbournites aged 25-45 who are looking for genuine friendships and enjoy going out for a nice meal and a drink. We'll discover new restaurants, enjoy delicious meals and make satisfying conversation with friendly dinner companions. It's one big dinner party and everyone's welcome!

Meetups will generally be held in the CBD and inner suburbs to keep it central for all members. Any recommendations for good restaurants are more than welcome!

Please tell us a little about yourself; who you are, where you're originally from/where you live now, what you're interested in, etc. Please include a photo if you can so we can put a face to your name!

I have set some guidelines to make the MDO experience more enjoyable for all members:

Preamble:

The purpose of Melbourne Dining Out is to explore the many and various restaurants in Melbourne, mainly in the City and inner suburbs.

We are doing this as an interest. We give our time freely and gain nothing financially. Our passion is going out on the town to have a nice meal and a couple of drinks in the company of others, and meeting new people, no matter who they are.

Guidelines:

It is totally inappropriate to do a ‘no-show’, that is to book for an event and simply not turn up. It is fully understandable that circumstances change at the last minute; however every effort should be made to change your booking. You may appreciate that with large group bookings sometimes a deposit is required by the restaurant to confirm the booking, and some restaurants may require no shows to be paid for. Additionally given the popularity of some events often there is a waiting list, so by updating your RSVP to NO allows a fellow member to attend if you cannot make it. If you are unable to change your booking online, please call or text (with your name). My phone number is posted on every event that I host.

We usually gather for pre-dinner drinks at a bar near the restaurant. Therefore we attend two venues on one night. Please read all the details to ensure that you attend the right place at the right time to avoid any confusion. (There is a facility to print the event details to make it easy to remember).

Please remember what drinks you had at the restaurant when it comes to paying the bill, as most restaurants will not allow drinks to be purchased at the bar.

Handy hint: it would be easier if you could bring smaller notes as there is sometimes not enough change for a $50 note. (I know that ATMs issuing only $20s and $50s doesn’t help).

The purpose of Melbourne Dining Out is a social group for those that enjoy exploring different restaurants and eating out. We understand it is also a great way to meet new people and make new friends, which often happens, however it is not a dating or matchmaking service. Neither is it strictly for singles. Everyone is welcome and we have a number of couples who attend with and sometimes without their partner. We understand the Laws of Attraction can still come into play regardless, however please be respect others’ boundaries and be careful of whom you flirt with!

Unwanted advances are not tolerated by MDO. Any member can raise such concerns with Michelle, Sharon or myself . MDO reserves the right to ban any member who is in breach of these guidelines, where a complaint has been made.
