Welcome to MAGMA! hope to see you at one of our Monthly Board Game Meetups at http://www.silverspringhobby.com![]()
or one of Our Monday Night Events on the East Side!
The meet up will probably happen in Riverwest. But maybe the East Side.
Last part of note -
The civil war "road versions" of games are - Road to Richmond, Stonewall Jackson's Way, Stonewall in the Valley, etc. More strategic than tactical. Compared to Stonewall, Devil's Den, Bloody April, which are far more tactical in nature. I have many different games (hundreds)!
I run games for kids from 2nd grade through High School, thus I teach my games. I'll be running my Deluxe Kingmaker at the Gaming Hoopla and RockCon soon, too
Feel free to call - [masked]
Second part of note - (can't write much this way, so the email would be better for me). :-)
I have two boys that are off and married now and one girl still in school and at home. One of the boys is still working on his degree and the other has his engineering degree and is working full time.
I'm looking for work presently (in computers), I have a Master's and can do both hardware and software work, but prefer software a bit more. I was part of a group that was laid-off. So I have time.
No problem on the date. For that matter, if you are in Waukegan, I'm in Zion. I'm sure we could arrange another weekend to meet outside of the meetup for that matter.
I like to play ASL, but haven't much in recent years. I've had very good years and very bad ones. Something perhaps different about me, I don't play many scenarios twice (unless it is to just switch sides and try again). I have many "basic scenarios". I even taught it at a GenCon some years ago.
My email is [masked]
I could bring Ironclads again, if you'd like. We have done Age of Renaissance, Republic of Rome and of course Kingmaker with this group.
I play so many things, and I try to keep changing for variety. Do you like ASL, Empires of the Middle Ages, Armageddon, name a civil war battle, I probably have a simulation for it, as well as Civil War (Strategic) and the Road versions, Columbia block games, Adv Civ, Great War at Sea(s)? I won the AH Classics many years ago. Russian Campaign? Let me know.
What wargames do you like? I have and play many. Only the GMT's? Or AH, SPI, MMP, AP, CG, others?
OK, Mike. Something I post on every meetup... If you have a game you'd like to play or bring. suggest it and see how the crowd takes it.. I like my GDW game as much as the next person, but we only get a hardcore group together about once every other month or so..
So, if you can teach it and want to play it. suggest it! :-)
Hey, Mike!
I'm a big fan of GMT games. (Berlin to Barbarossa, Thirty-years War, Paths of Glory.) Triumph of Chaos, though not by GMT, is my favorite game based on the CDG system.
Your recent purchases all look *very* interesting.
Kewlies.. A strat gamer! Not enough of those around! Welcome to the group. Personally I love the old SSI & SSG, etc games!
