  I can't really remember because I wasn't the one who got the permits but I think it's the Pacific Crest Trail... or at least leads to it. Just ahead of where the photo was taken is the sign that says you need the permit to continue.

  It's the trail entering Desolation Wilderness from Echo Lakes, which you can see in the background. I ran this point-to-point twice with a group of Tahoe Mountain Milers from the other side of the lakes (in the background) and we ended at Glen Alpine on the backside of Fallen Leaf Lake. It's VERY rocky and more suited to hiking IMO, but scenic and challenging.

  Thanks for starting this group Gary! Maybe in the winter you can post any snowshoe runs/races in the Tahoe area.

  I'm looking forward to running with your group now and then. We have a small Fallon club, Clockwork Running & Fitness, getting together Tues/Thurs PM for core training and a short run plus four of us doing 5:30am workouts at a local hill on trails. Your group will offer us an option to carpool to meet for social outings. I used to run regularly with the Tahoe Mountain Milers from Tahoe. Dave Cotter is the organizer, though I'm not sure how active they are anymore.

  I would like to run up in Cool again... get the course down before I lead the run on May 8. Monday or Tuesday works for me.
