I've been trying to change my status for 45 minutes. The frog count at Patuxent, which I am involved with, was moved to tomorrow night due to rain. I'm not even sure I can make it, as I work until 5:00 in Towson and the drive will definately be over an hour. I am waiting to hear what time they will let us in the gate. But I don't want to tie up a spot for someone else at the meetup when I don't know I can be there for sure.
I bet you'll have a fantastic night.
Great picture. I am still waiting to hear from Patuxent regarding timing for the Friday night frog count, which is a prior commitment. If it will be impossible for me to get there by the meet-up time, then I would be able to join the group. I don't want to hold one of the last spots when it is unclear whether I can come. I was hoping I would have heard from Patuxent by now. I had REALLY wanted to participate on thie vernal pool trip, and it should be such a great night for it.
I'll be out of town for the new date and will be unable to attend. I'm not going to sign up for the following weekend because we may still be out of town. I couldn't figure out how to update my RSVP. Please update the list and add three more spots. I was going to go to the Sat. March 19 hike.
never saw the eagle photos ! cant recall his name but saw him do a talk and show turtle photos at Howard County Conservancy a year or tow ago.
We'll set up a trip to Bay Front Park when the weather gets nice.
I would love that, thank you
I just looked up the critter I mentioned and it's a Jefferson Salamander, Ambystoma jeffersonianum (Green), not a Washington. Oops, I said it had been awhile. The ones a saw were in a small "streamlet" rather than a "pond", I don't remember if the 12" to 18" wide streamlet was ephermal. I don't think it included fish though. Logistically I'm not sure how we would know when, other than generally to go?
Veral pools are great, does the Society have any favorites? Society ever do Wood Frogs?
