Welcome Sarah!! Some years ago I relocated from Hartford to NYC too! The NYC Wine Tasting Group is a fun, casual, and interesting group of food and wine lovers. Our get togethers are small, usually 10 people, which means there is more wine for us to enjoy. Hope you can make it to a meetup. Cheers!!
