  “ Is that AD&D or D&D 1st edition? There is a huge difference between them. AD&D had the hardcover books and D&D had the boxed sets and saddlestitch covers until the Rules Cyclopedia came out.

  So how do games go on this type of get-together? I'm used to continuing stories with stable characters. ”
