  “ Hi Katie,
  Perhaps you could help me. I know that maine doesn't have an ASPC, is it with an A at the end? Anyway, iwould like to become an animal welfare worker, but am not sure how to go about it in the state of Maine.
  Is there a way to start such a group? A paying position type, like New York has?
  I'd like to do this as Maine is way understaffed when it comes to checking on the welfare of animals and protecting them.
  We even still allow puppy mills, and they should be outlawed!!!
