  Well as a matter of fact, The DC/MD/VA Small and Large Dog Meetup Group holds gatherings at Hotel Monaco in Alexandria. However it isn't specific to that group. The Hotel just does Tue/Thu Doggie Happy our on its own, though sometimes they cancel. But that means you don't have to depend on the Meetup. There are Meetups schedule for this Tue/Thu already though so you might just consider those :)

  I ended up finding a basement apartment on Craigslist. You'd be surprised, there are some neat deals on there, and not all of them have roommates required. Hope it works out!
