  • “ rambling on, but had to add that i've never set foot in a wal-mart. finally, you're probably aware of the following but i love it so much: "baraka" means "blessing!" and so similar to "baruch" in hebrew. like "salaam" ('peace') so close to "shalom." my in-home helper speaks mostly somali, but i chose her from a list the county sent just by looking at her last name, 'mohamed.' okay, so we're not going to bring peace to the middle east, but hey! GOT to take a baby step if you get a chance, right?! ”
