61 Old Street
Boom - hi again all.
So the the Timberyard cafe on Old Street (5 minutes from both Old st and Barbican tube) has kindly agreed to stay open later for us Tuesday 5th, meaning the first MEME in London is offically go.
The night will be one of casual conversation, and the sharing of views whilst enjoying a variety of the lovely goods the cafe can offer to keep us going - check their Facebook for further info of the treats they serve: https://www.facebook.com/TimberYardUK
The topic of the night will be Psychology, and will begin with some form of multimedia introduction to get the creative juices flowing (we used play a documentary back in the day, but will have to see how that works in a public space).
Following on from that anyone who has any thoughts on the topic will be able to jot them down on the 'MEME register' and the discussion will just spontaneously erupt from there. Currently we're hoping to find answers to questions (amongst other things) such as:
- What tricks do our minds play on us, and what the heck causes these happen (anyone ever been convinced the second hand on their watch has stopped, only to look at it again and it's working perfectly?)
- What is the 'ego', where does it come from and why does it make some people so difficult to get along with?
It'll be great to see a bunch of your friendly faces here, and do please RSVP (as the Cafe does have limited capacity), also feel free to invite friends, the more the merrier. Even if you just wish to come along just to see what we're about or listen in - that's cool.
There'll be more updates (and hopefully a twitter feed) to help point you in the direction of what the night's about before the occassion, but for now hope to see you all in just under two weeks.
Take it easy y'all.
