If you haven't already, please be sure to send me your t-shirt size via email to [masked]. We've ordered plenty of extras, but want to try and make sure we've got the right sizes for everyone who is attending.
With great sponsors like Rackspace, Cowork Memphis, and Robert Half Technologies, we're expecting this to be the biggest and best event we've had yet.
The plan for Friday night is for everyone to begin arriving between 5pm and 6pm. We'll have a short kick-off meeting and break off into teams. Dinner will be served at 6:30pm, and thanks to Moe's Memphis we'll be having a Taco Bar with all the fixings!
If for some reason you are no longer going to be able to attend, please let us know as soon as possible so we don't order too much food.
If you have any questions, concerns, or need to let us know of any special needs, Brian and Adam can both be reached by emailing [masked].

I do a lot of electronics prototyping work, and have good coding experience with C/C++, especially on small, limited systems. I also have experience with PHP/MySQL.
I hope I get to apply all of my skills for this!

I'm a Graphic Design student that has a good grasp in InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. :)
Great, look forward to seeing you at GiveCamp Memphis!
I'm not familiar with this event. Are there set hours during the weekend for being on location or can the work be done from home?

Generally everyone shows up on Friday night, and we create teams for each of the projects. After that it's up to the teams to decide who needs to be working on what, and when. We'd hope that everyone would be on-site as much as possible because beyond helping the nonprofits, this is an opportunity to have fun with like-minded techies. While it's not even remotely a requirement, we have at past events had people who stayed at the venue all night long working on their project.

I would like to extend my offer of services beyond just the weekend. I have been wanting to volunteer on a regular basis. I'd also like to pass some information to our volunteer coordinator at Medtronic. Who would I talk to?

For the purpose of GiveCamp we have a strict "what happens at GiveCamp stays at GiveCamp" policy. We ask that nonprofits not ask for personal contact info from any volunteers, and vice versa. This is to protect both sides of the arrangement. We don't want nonprofits hassling volunteers after the weekend to do additional work, and we don't want volunteers charging the nonprofits after the weekend to get work completed.
If you have a desire to continue to help any of the nonprofits after the weekend, we can help make the appropriate introductions and arrangements once we're sure it's in the best interest of both sides.
Hi! I’m certainly not a developer, but I’m married to one (James Giles IV over there in the sidebar!), and he asked me to check this out.
I’m in communications and would love to take part in whatever way my skills can be used. I can develop content, social media strategies, and am familiar with many free and cheap tools to make maintaining those things really easy. I’m also familiar with Google Analytics as well as other analytics tools. Thanks!
We'd love to have your help. There are several projects that have been submitted that are for new websites or updates to existing websites. I can't believe the nonprofits would turn down the help of a content strategist :)

I may have looked over this but how long will registration be open?
Volunteer Registration will likely be open until Feb 1. No real set date for closing it unless we start getting too many volunteers.
1 · December 31, 2013
Would it be possible to get a list of potential projects beforehand?
0 · December 23, 2013
We are thinking of hosting a meet and greet between the selected nonprofits and any volunteers we have about a week or so before the event.

Walter - Unfortunately this isn't a free-for-all Hackathon. If you're looking for one, you should check out HACKMemphis though. This event is about working on the projects the nonprofits have a need for, and getting them completed.
