SQL Server licensing overview and practical approaches – how to save time and money!
Join us Thursday, July 10th, as Dan Evans and Rob DeMotsis help us learn how to save time and money with SQL Server licensing.
As usual, pizza will be served around 5:30 PM and the meeting will start at 6 PM.
For those that might be arriving after 5:30, the door and elevator code is 2111#
If you plan to attend, please RSVP so we know how much pizza to get, and so that we know who to contact if there are any changes that need to be communicated.
Starting with SQL Server 2012, the software licensing model made significant changes from a per processor to per core model. This conversion process allows for greater flexibility in deployment but has come complexities in the conversion process. Come learn some of the key points in this license model change along with some free tools to help you manage your database environment. A great case study will also be used to illustrate how you can not only gain control over your environment but also benefit from a more strategic approach to leverage the investment in SQL Server.
Rob DeMotsis is the Database Manager for Baptist Memorial Hospital and has several years of experience architecting, developing and implementing enterprise scale SQL Server solutions for large organizations in the Mid-South.
Dan Evans is a Senior Technical Solution Professional for Microsoft focused on data architecture, data governance, Big Data, Business Intelligence and Analytics and Azure for Tennessee.
